18th AGM (Head Office)
On Thursday, Ashwin 3, 2081 (September 19, 2024), the 18th Annual General Assembly of the organization, under the Panchkhal Unit Meeting, was held at the Jai Shri Krishna Party Palace, chaired by the organization's president, Mr. Babukaji Parajuli. The event was graced by the chief guest, Mr. Mahesh Kharel, Mayor of Panchkhal Municipality. The program was conducted by the organization's secretary, Mr. Ram Prasad Koirala, and included several distinguished guests such as District Coordination Committee Spokesperson Apsara Dhungana, Deputy Mayor of Panchkhal Municipality Suryamaya Danuwar, Ward Chairmen from Wards 1, 4, 5, and 9, respectively, Mr. Jai Bahadur Tamang, Mr. Sundar Tamang, Mr. Sitaram Dhungana, and Mr. Ramkaji Shrestha. Other attendees included the President of Kavre Red Cross, Mr. Raghunath Humagai, founding president Mr. Ishwori Rajkumar Mainali, former president Mr. Damodar Adhikari, Audit Committee Coordinator Mr. Badri Prasad Acharya, Legal Advisor and Election Coordinator Mr. Harisharan Dahal, advisor Mrs. Satyabati Bhattarai, Chairman of Swachha Cooperative Mr. Omkar Shrestha, Chairman of Pratishtha Agricultural Cooperative Mr. Gyan Bahadur Thapa, Chairman of Progressive Multipurpose Cooperative Mr. Keshav Prasad Kafle, Chairman of Panchkhal Valley Multipurpose Cooperative Mr. Kedar Luitel, and Assistant Secretary of Rural Women Development Multipurpose Cooperative Mrs. Kusum Dulal.
The organization's vice president, Mr. Rajan Karki, welcomed the guests and members. The event was inaugurated by the chief guest, Mr. Mahesh Kharel, with the lighting of a lamp and garlanding the statue of the cooperative movement's founders. Students from Nava Janahit English Boarding School, who are young members of the cooperative, presented various cooperative-themed dances and performances.
The annual progress report, policies and programs, plans, and budget for the fiscal year, presented by the president, secretary, treasurer, and audit committees, were discussed extensively and approved during the assembly. In his congratulatory speech, chief guest Mahesh Kharel stated that the financial strength and member-friendly nature of the institution, as a guardian organization of Panchkhal, allow the community to engage in transactions confidently. He emphasized that the integration and cooperation among cooperatives would enable the institution to lead Kavre district's financial development and set an example for other organizations.
During the event, members who excelled in savings, loan transactions, share purchases, and child savings for the fiscal year 2080/81 were honored in various categories. Additionally, savers and borrowers who benefited the most from the protected capital return fund were recognized. The unit meeting successfully engaged members through a special raffle program.
The Economic Development Award for 2080/81 was presented to former president Mr. Damodar Adhikari, and the Rising Young Entrepreneur Award was given to member Mr. Prakash Sapkota.
Additionally, on the occasion of the 18th Annual Assembly, a blood donation program was organized in coordination with the Red Cross Society's Anaikot branch and with technical support from Kavre Blood Bank, where 27 donors participated.
The active participation of the members has further encouraged the organization. The organization extends heartfelt gratitude to all involved and looks forward to continuous support and cooperation.
